Ways Love Makes You Brave

Love is a necessary component of being fully human, but giving and showing love also makes you bolder in several ways.

Love is the Antidote to Fear

Both Buddhist and Christian teachings agree that giving and receiving love drives out fear.

Whether we are talking about romantic love, friendly love, the love for a pet, or the love of God, showing love and knowing that you are loved overshadows any fearful feelings you might have.

Love Puts Our Focus on Someone Else

When we express love for another person, we are focused on them. True love is a selfless act.

When you focus on others, your world expands and you begin to see opportunities everywhere.

This is one thing people in love and good leaders have in common. Both have come to the realization that it’s not about them. Selfishness diminishes love.

When we act for the benefit of others, we will do things that we would never do for ourselves. We will stretch our abilities past our comfort zone without even realizing how far we’ve come. It is one of the fastest ways to grow.

Love is a Good Drug

The feeling of love increases the level of dopamine in our brain.

Dopamine is the most important substance for confidence.

The rush of dopamine released in the brain of someone in love motivates them to be the best they can be. We need natural dopamine in our systems to stay motivated and active.

Loves Shows Relationship Maturity

Some people associated attraction with love, but actually, a more accurate precursor to love would be an appreciation for someone else.

When we value someone else for being who they are, we are learning how to form genuine relationships that can lead to all the benefits of having love in our lives.

Love Empowers Change

Whether it’s the courage to stop an unhealthy habit, or the desire to want to be a positive force for change in the world — it is harder to make changes without love.

It has become a cliche song lyric, but love is a verb. It requires action on the part of the lover.

Love is the Glue that Holds Society Together

When other bonds such as safety and economics fail, love is the bond that keeps society from crumbling into chaos.

Love never fails. — 1 Corinthians 13:8
